Lisa Arcella has extensive experience
as an editor and a writer, covering news, human-interest,
celebrity profiles, and health, travel and beauty features.
Before launching a successful
career as a freelance writer and contributing editor for
many publications, she was the entertainment editor at
Rosie O'Donnell's headline grabbing magazine, Rosie and
also the entertainment editor at the venerable women's
magazine, McCalls. At both publications she executed covers
and stories with such well-known names as; Halle Berry,
Faith Hill, John Travolta, Richard Gere, Drew Barrymore,
Celine Dion, Vanessa Williams, Uma Thurman and many, many
more. She also organized a 15-celebrity panel (including
Gene Wilder, Angela Bassett and Iman) as presenters for
the prestigious Cosmetic Executive Women's Awards at New
York's Waldorf Astoria.
Arcella has worked at both the
New York Daily News and the New York Post (even simultaneously
at one point), editing news and covering entertainment
and she had a long stint as an editor at In Touch Weekly.
Throughout her career she has interviewed celebrities
as diverse as Madonna, Julia Roberts, Meryl Steep, Paris
Hilton and opera star Andrea Bocelli to the late UN Ambassador
Richard Holbrook.
But she has not limited herself
to the celebrity genre. She has written about travel and
the business community for Vegas magazine, put together
a custom content package for the Waldorf Astoria Hotel
chain and has covered real estate for several publications.
She was an editor at Bridal Guide magazine and with a
partner started Mother of the Bride magazine, which was
named one of the top 10 magazine start-ups of the year
along with Oprah Winfrey's mega-success, O Magazine.
Arcella has written five books
for teenage readers and her biography of Leonardo DiCaprio
has been translated into eight languages and sold around
the world. She is currently working on a book about the
history of the red carpet, a humorous book for brides-to-be
and is co-writing two biographies with celebrities. She
has contributed as a writer to: Fitness, Hello, All You,
Woman's World, First for Women, Details, People, Teen
People, Vegas, The Vancouver Sun, Black Elegance, Smart
Beauty, The New York Daily News, The New York Post, the
Wall Street Journal, Gayot.com, Travel Savvy, NJ Monthly,
Soap Opera Update, German Life, Woman's Day and additional
publications in Australia, England, Denmark, Norway, Sweden
and Germany. She has made numerous TV appearances and
is a weekly contributor to the Frank DeCaro radio show
on Sirius XM.
